Obtained Bachelors degree (2:1) in Psychology and Anthropology from Oxford Polytechnic in 1977. Worked in coating and adhesives industry in Hull until 1980 and Forestry in Oxford until 1981. Joined Prof David Whitteridge and Kevan AC Martin in Experimental Psychology, Oxford University in 1981, to work on MRC project on cortical structure and function. Moved to Zurich with Douglas and Martin in 1995 to continue work on cortex of mammals. Presented work on macaque interareal connectivity for PhD at Zurich University in 2013. Currently looking at the structure of Frontal Eye Fields in macaque frontal cortex for comparison with other cortices and other species. For this analysis we use light and electron microscopy.
