RICO MÖCKEL is a
Ph.D student of the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He is working at the Institute
of Neuroinformatics. He received a diploma (equivalent to MSc) in
Electrical Engineering from the University
of Rostock, Germany. He did his diploma thesis at the
Institute of Neuroinformatics in Switzerland where he developed
a STDP floating-gate synapse in CMOS VLSI.
Rico Möckel has been doing research since his fourth semester.
He developed the electonics, control software and wireless Bluetooth
scatter network protocol for a modular
robot at the EPFL in Lausanne Switzerland. He worked in the field
of sensor networks at the Institute of Applied Microelectronics and
Computer Engineering at the University of Rostock, Germany and implemented
software for control and visualization of processes in chemical reactors
at the Institute of Automation at the University of Rostock, Germany.
At the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Rostock
Rico Möckel was the speaker of the student representation, an elected
student representative in the committee of the Department of Electrical
Engineering as well as a student representative of the appointment commission
for a professorship in the field of communication engineering.

September 2005: Our
YaMoR article has received
the "Industrial Robot Highly Commended Award" at the CLAWAR
2005 conference.
September 2005: I joined the Institute
of Neuroinformatics at the ETH Zurich as a PH.D student.
July 20th 2005: I married
the most beautiful and lovely woman in the world.
