1994/95 - Design and development of all software (in C and TMS320C5x assembler) on the 'Silicon Cortex' (SCX) project for Prof. R. J. Douglas at the Medical Research Council Anatomical Neuropharmacology Unit.

1993/94 - Engineering project leader on project to develop a major revision of RM's schools network product 'RM Net LM'.

1992 - Developed low level PC mainboard test software (in Intel x86 assembler) for use on production line (including contribution to design of test jig hardware) for RM S-Series computers.

1991 - Designed and developed MS-DOS upper memory block (UMB) server (in Intel x86 assembler) for use on a range of RM hardware (X, M and S Series).

1991 - Engineering project leader on project to identify and resolve a chipset problem that was preventing shipment of RM's major harware product at the time (M-Series).

1990/91 - Software project leader on project to introduce new Notebook type computer and develop driver software for this to achieve compatibility with earlier non-standard (PC-186) hardware.

1990/91 - Project manager on project to develop and introduce a new version of a NETBIOS protocol driver.

1989/90 - Implemented sound driver software (in Intel 80x86 assembler) on industry standard AT compatible hardware to achieve compatibility with driver on earlier, non-standard (PC-186) hardware.

1989 - Quality Assurance Representative on project to introduce a cost reduction and major revision of one of RM's principal hardware products (PC-186 in M-series style casework).

1989 - Engineering project leader on project to completely revise and update RM's CD-ROM drive products.

1989 - Preparation for introduction of BS5750 Part 1 / ISO 9001 quality system.

1988 - Introduced company wide 'Engineering Defect Log' design defect reporting system.

1988 - Software Quality Control project leader in charge of all software quality control on a project to release 20MHz and 25MHz 80386 based AT compatibles (VX20 and VX25). Scope of software tested included RM BIOS, RM MS-DOS adaptation and Microsoft Windows graphics drivers.

1986 - Study of Factory Failure Data Collection methods in RM.

Other projects:

1985 - (While at university) Assisted with the computerised statistical analysis (using SPSS) of questionnaire results for the University of Bristol Student Union accessibility campaign report "A Study of Disability in the University". (Published 1986)

1981 - (While at school) Implemented software system (in BASIC) to produce individual timetables for each pupil in the school at the start of each school year.
